About the event
Șef Gonzales was a mediocre law student and and aspiring pop singer/model - if Australian Idol had been around in 2001, Sef would have been vying for gig. He wanted fame and fortune fast, but his parents wanted him to work hard at his studies and in the family's law firm to succeed. His fastrack plan was to murder his mother, father and sister then inherit the family fortune. His first attempt waa poison, but when that failed he laid in wait, murdering them all with bludgeons and knives.
The story he spun to police was of an innocent young man confronted by an horrific and racially motivated crime. In his role as grieving son and brother, Sef sang at their funeral. But police didn’t believe a word of it and methodically unpicked his alibis and stories. In 2004, after a lengthy hard fought trial, he was convicted and sentenced…
